Employed as a freelance developer by Redwood Publishing to develop a Wordpress based CMS for their client - Virgin media. Set up of custom themes for desktop and mobile versions of the site. I also created custom plugins for social media tracking and a method to show different content to individual customers depending on what virginmedia package they have.
Virgin - electric! Ezine

Ongoing contract with Redwood publishing as Senior Flash developer, programming interactive content for Virgin medias customer ezine "electric!" Since issue 7, April 2009.
The ezine includes various games and features, these are programmed using flash actionscript.
Intitally hosted on the Ceros ezine platform, electric has now moved to the eDition publishing platform

The Crafts Council is the UK’s national organisation for the promotion of contemporary crafts.
Design and creation of the original site featuring a simple, fully accessible and visually engaging web presence for a public service organisation.
A new template was designed using HTML and CSS.
The site was praised in Webactive magazine where it received 4/5 star rating.

Mens Fitness Website

Dennis publishing fitness magazine for Men
The brief was to freshen up existing design to separate the brand from Maxim magazine.
The underlying CMS was to stay the same so that any design work had to take into account some of the limitations of the system.
With that in mind new colours were used to create a "fresh healthy" style. Gradients were used to accent curved shapes holding the titles of the sections.

Development of a Social networking site featuring user generated content, accessed and displayed in a user friendly way.
Giving crafts people a simple way to communicate, display their work, make new friends, and a directory service for Galleries and shops linked to Google maps.

Lovely winter sparkle - Sarah Jessica Parker

Design and program an interactive microsite page to showcase the new Sarah Jessica Parker titled Lovely Winter Sparkle perfume.
The site featured a winter theme with falling snow , a voting page linked to a database where users could vote on their favourite SJP outfit. And a send to a friend email.
Upon opening the email the message is displayed in a stylish envelope opening animation giving the recipient the option of being sent to the microsite or to enter a competition.

A fun cryptic quiz of television program titles. Both flash cookies and a database collect the users email and position in the game allowing them to return at a later time and continue from where they left. Data captured can also be used for future marketing purposes where the user has agreed via the tick box.
Wilkinson Sword Xtreme 3 Game

Production of four games to be set over the period of four weeks, where the player must guess the correct names from visual clues hidden in a photo montage. With free text entry for the answers, the player should be able to get points for variations in spelling or nicknames. Scores times and user details were to be captured to a database.
The design of the games should be modular using xml for the clues and answers thus enabling the production time to be minimised for each week.
